Carole's dedication to the Chorley FC community is outstanding. She has been involved in supporting the club for many years, and her commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring. - Darren Jenkinson, Chorley FC Community Foundation Chair

Chorley Football Club and Chorley FC Community Foundation have named Carole Turner as its "Community Captain" as part of the Premier League's 30th birthday celebrations. The Premier League is marking its 30th anniversary by celebrating individuals who support their local communities. The Community Captains are people who lead by example and inspire others around them. They are people who work hard in their clubs' community’s week in, week out.

Darren Jenkinson, Chair of the Chorley FC Community Foundation, explained why Carole was the perfect choice for the Community Captain role. He said, "Carole's dedication to the Chorley FC community is outstanding. She has been involved in supporting the club for many years, and her commitment to making a difference is truly inspiring. Carole plays a pivotal role in the Foundation’s Sporting Memories group, working with people living with Dementia, Alzheimer’s or just looking to be around others and reduce isolation. She is a great example of someone who embodies the values of Chorley FC, and we are delighted that she has been recognised by the Premier League as our Community Captain."

During the pandemic, the Premier League provided emergency support to National League clubs, including Chorley FC, and has increased its investment to help them thrive post-pandemic. The Premier League also invests in the National League Trust, which in turn supports the Chorley FC Community Foundation to do the work they do with people across the Chorley borough.

Chorley FC is a football club that is deeply rooted in its community. The club's community foundation delivers a wide range of programmes that help to improve the lives of people in the local area. These programmes include supporting mental health, providing football coaching, and working with local schools to promote physical activity and healthy living.

The Community Captain programme is just one example of how the Premier League is supporting local communities across the country. By celebrating the individuals who work hard to make a difference, the Premier League is shining a spotlight on the important role that football clubs play in their communities.

Chorley FC's Community Captain, Carole Turner, is a deserving recipient of this recognition from the Premier League. Her commitment to her local community is an inspiration to others, and it is a testament to the important role that football clubs can play in supporting their communities.

With the Premier League's continued support, Chorley FC Community Foundation and other National League Community Clubs will be able to thrive post-pandemic and continue to make a positive impact in their local areas.
